Casa de Campo is a vast luxury resort and residential community in La Romana, offering a very different experience from a traditional single-building all-inclusive. The property encompasses villas and hotel rooms, championship golf, a marina, equestrian facilities, beaches, restaurants, and the remarkable Altos de Chavón village. Golf carts are a central part of the experience because the resort's amenities and event venues are spread across thousands of acres. This is the resort that I would personally choose if it were my own wedding or my daughter's wedding in the Dominican Republic. Casa de Campo feels different from a typical resort. Altos de Chavón, its replica Mediterranean village, is the setting that really won me over. The architecture and photo opportunities are stunning.

What I loved

Altos de Chavón’s distinctive architecture and photo opportunities would be a major reason for me to choose this resort.
My personal pick for a welcome party would be the adults-only pool area with its covered dining space, subject to the event arrangements.
I thought the food was excellent, and the beach was another highlight.

Who I recommend it for

Large wedding groups and families who want a distinctive setting and room to make the celebration their own.
I would also consider it for an intimate wedding or elopement, especially for the photographs.
Rooms and resort-managed villas give us different ways to arrange the group’s stay.

What to know

All-inclusive and non-all-inclusive options are available. We would review the dining-plan inclusions with your room or villa arrangements.
I visited during seaweed season and did not see seaweed at the beach during my September 2026 visit. Conditions vary; that is not a guarantee for every wedding date.

Planning tip: This is a sprawling property rather than a compact hotel. Resort accommodations include golf carts, but we would still plan the locations and transportation for your wedding events.
