Secrets Cap Cana sits on one of my favorite beaches. I love how expansive this stretch feels, with more breathing room to spread out and find a spot that feels a little more secluded. For me, the Preferred Club upgrade is also worth considering, especially if your idea of a good afternoon is relaxing with a book rather than being in the middle of the action.

What I loved

The expansive beach and the feeling of having room to spread out.

Who I recommend it for

Couples who value a spacious beach and a little breathing room.
Travelers who want a quieter place to relax, with a livelier pool scene available when they feel like it.
Guests who, like me, would rather read a book than listen to pumping music all afternoon.

What to know

I prefer this beach to some of the more tightly packed stretches elsewhere around Punta Cana. At those resorts, I can sometimes feel uncomfortably close to nearby guests, especially if someone is smoking.
For a more lively daytime experience, I would head to the main pool. For a quieter retreat, my preference is the Preferred Club section.

Planning tip: If peace and quiet are high on your wish list, I think the Preferred Club section is worth the upgrade. It gives you a separate pool area to retreat to, while the main pool is there when you want more energy.
